Club: Circolo Nautico Al Mare Varazze. - Notes from the current owner - 09.01.2008 by Site Administrator
- The first owner was Max Oberti, from Genoa, who was also owner of other eight 5.5, all named "Twins" (from Twins VI to Twins XIV, the others Twins were 6m IC).
Twins XIV was built in mahogany traditional planking for the 1968
Acapulco Olympic Games, where was classified 5th with the crew of Giuseppe Zucchinetti (at the helm), Antonio Carattino and Domenico Carattino.
In the same yera the boat was 6th at the European Championship in Neuchatel and winner of the Italian Championship.
After the Olympic Games the boas was bought by Simone Travi from Varazze that own the boat until 2003, when I have bought it.
The boat has been restored in the winter 2003-2004 and actually is fully original.
In 2004 Twins XIV was 3rd to the Italian Championship an 3rd to the Torbole World's, in the Classic Division.
In 2005 and 2006 was 2nd in the Italian Campionship.
The Club is Compagnia della Vela di Venezia.
I hope it's enough;
ciao
Giuseppe Duca
