- 5.5 CAN 13 "Bibis II" - historic comment - 12.03.2014 by Kaspar Stubenrauch
- George Cuthbertson reports from Canada:
"BIBIS II" was beautifully built by Dirk Kneulmann, Ontario Yachts Ltd., Oakville, Ont.
I designed her for Jim Crang, who wanted to challenge for the Seawanhaka Cup which had been almost owned by Canadian engineer and yacht designer G. Herrick Duggan through the late 1800's/early 1900's. In the 1960's hosted by Seawanhaka Corinthian Y. C., Oyster Bay, N. Y., the series would be held in the west end of Long Island Sound. Light weather was
anticipated, which gave direction to major design decisions.
It is not known, if the boat still exists; anyone having info, please place a note.
