Notes
- 5.5 NOR 58 "Silver Fox" - built in 1989 - 26.09.2017 by Kaspar Stubenrauch
- Tom Nysted reports: "...The production number of "Silver Fox" is ME 8055116989
So that means that the production year was 1989; I bought the NOR 58 directly from Bob Symonette..."
- NOR 58 & her sisters - 22.08.2014 by Kaspar Stubenrauch
- Following the info from Warren Muir about "Warrior III" and the first series of Melges built 5.5m boats, here are the sister boats to NOR 58; they are listed with their last sailnumbers known:
NOR 47, USA 91, NOR 50, GER 75, USA 94, SUI 184, NOR 54, SUI 176, NOR 50, SUI 160, SUI 202, NED 10, NOR 58, BAH 16, SUI 155, SUI 171, SUI 172 and GER 25. NED 10 was lost in a fire; USA 91 is believed to have become BAH 16 (now CAN 79) and US-94 to have become SUI 171.
Together with the originals FRA 44 and SUI 135, it will be a challenge to meet again, for close competition races.
