As the (poor, sorry) pictures of the cockpit show, ergonomy of the cockpit and handling was the one of the main focus of this project.
The cockpit itself was treated like a bathtub, hanged to the deck and laminated together with it in one shot, so that watertightness was perfect (solution still used).
Hardware was doubled each side like on a catamaran, and grouped on small islands located in between of the crews, so that each one could access and help easily and quickly for any manoeuvre if needed, and, moreover, easy to unmount in case of trouble during a leg.
A spinnaker swallower was tested on SUI-190, that was very efficient in an handling point of view, but too much destroying these fragile sails.
One unit have been built by Philippe Durr (deck and cockpit by Christof Wilke): SUI-190 "White Spirit", then "Lumba Go" to Olivier Besse, then "Chlika Chlika" to Alain Cloux, then NED-33 "Onvermijdelijk" to Jan Van Gelderen.
Simultaneously, a light airs version has been built by Josi Steinmayer exclusively for Bruno Marazzi : SUI-193 Ali-Baba (then ? to J. & E. Saurer). This boat was distinguished by a very low area fin-keel fitted with a trim tab with very long passive fairing strips that was able to reconstitute efficient asymmetrical wing sections. This principle is still used on our last designs as the rules still don't limit this topic.
